Buyer questions
The questions buyers ask before the first order
MOQ, sampling, tooling, lead time, payment and compliance — answered directly. Anything not covered here, ask and we will answer in writing.
What is your MOQ?
300 pieces per colour for standard lines, 200 pieces for aluminium. Sizes can be mixed within one colour. For a new mould the practical minimum is 1,000 pieces per model.
How fast can I get a sample?
7–10 days on an existing shell, 15–20 days where artwork or new geometry is involved. Sample cost is unit cost plus express freight and is refunded against the first mass order.
Do I have to pay for tooling?
Not if an existing shell fits your product — which is the case for roughly two thirds of enquiries. Where a new mould is required, tooling takes 35–45 days and the cost, ownership and exclusivity terms are agreed in writing before work starts.
What is the mass-production lead time?
25–35 days after sample approval and deposit. Peak-season slots are reserved against an annual volume plan rather than booked order by order.
What payment terms do you use?
30% deposit with 70% before shipment as standard; L/C at sight for container-volume orders. The exact terms, currency and bank charges are set out on the quotation sheet and confirmed in the sales contract before the first order.
Can I use my own artwork and characters?
Yes, provided the artwork is your own or you hold a licence for it. We require written confirmation of rights before producing any branded item. We do not reproduce third-party characters without a licence document.
Which standards and certificates can you support?
QB/T 2155 baseline testing, EN 71 and CPSIA for the kids range, REACH declarations for the EU. Third-party test reports are commissioned per destination. Note that luggage sits outside EU CE marking — the applicable obligations are GPSR and REACH.
Is PERPHOENIX registered in my country?
International registration IR 1 340 215 covers Mexico, Australia, Korea, the Philippines, France, Germany and Spain. The US, the UK, Canada, other EU states and the GCC are not covered and need a national filing first. See the territory table on the markets page.
Were you really a Disney-authorized production base?
Yes — the facility was audited and authorised as a production base for Disney-licensed programmes from around 2013. We state this as history rather than a current licence, and we do not publish any third-party characters or artwork on this site.
Can my inspector visit the factory?
Yes. Your QC team or any inspection agency may inspect in-process or pre-shipment on site, with access to the testing area. We also send weekly production photo reports as standard.
What trade terms and ports do you ship from?
FOB Shanghai or Ningbo as standard. EXW, CIF and DDP can be quoted with the freight leg shown separately. Pieces per 40HQ is calculated per size mix and stated on the quotation sheet.
Can I mix sizes and colours in one container?
Yes. Mixed sizes within one colour are standard, and a size mix across colours can be planned per container. We run the loading calculation before quoting so the freight per piece is visible up front.
How quickly will I receive a quotation?
We reply promptly, usually within one working day (GMT+8) of receiving your brief. The sheet is itemised: shell, hardware, lining, labour, packing and tooling where applicable, with validity and lead time stated. A fuller brief — product line, quantity, specification level and destination — makes the first number the final one.
